Have you lost the ability to switch off and recharge?  Here are 3 easy ways:

  • Be idle.  Allow yourself moments of unplanned leisure where you don’t feel pressure to accomplish anything.  Listening to your thoughts and reconnecting with your surroundings is crucial for your wellbeing and gives you time to learn more about yourself.
  • Read.  Immerse yourself in a good book.  Reading helps develop empathy and makes you more aware of how other people live.  It also gives you a break from the information overload that we are all confronted with online.
  • Keep a diary.  Writing in a journal helps you articulate what you feel, and reflect on the difficulties you face and the decisions you need to make.  It can also reveal what you want most in life.
